For developing countries undergoing dynamic development, fostering the construction industry is a top priority for creating jobs and expanding the infrastructure for the people. With the experience in large-scale construction including the Karbala Oil Refinery Project, KA Group is working on construction projects of various industrial, residential and urban infrastructure facilities in developing countries. We will continue to work hard for the development of the national construction industry by integrating latest design technology and construction methods into developing countries.
Plant Construction Project
As basic industrial facilities in developing countries, industrial plants capable of various processes such as petrochemical processing, machining, cutting, and rolling are required. KA Group’s Plant Construction Project to build and operate industrial plants in developing countries aims to contribute to the continuous industrial development and national economic development of the country.
Power PlantㆍRefinery Construction Project
As a nation’s industrial foundation, the construction of power generation facilities and petrochemical facilities is a crucial construction project. In particular, the Middle East, oil-producing continent, requires operation of oil refining facilities through a stable electricity supply. In some countries, however, it is difficult for multinational oil companies to willingly enter the market due to its deep mistrust towards war and terrorism-affected electricity supply chains. In cooperation with the state government, we participate in construction projects of power generation facilities and oil refineries, making efforts for the stable growth of nation’s industrial foundation in oil-producing countries.
Residential Complex Construction Project
Many ‘residential construction projects’ in developing countries are ‘ongoing’ ‘large-scale’ construction projects that build new towns in major cities. Most of the construction projects like this adopt a Design Build method, in which the government award the contract to international construction companies to design, procure, and construct such project so that excellent, international technology that reduce construction costs and secure quality could be applied to the site. However, as this is far from the technological advancement, manpower training, and technological independence of domestic companies, high external dependence is expected to continue.
Being concerned with this vicious cycle, KA Group, as a local construction company, is doing its best to secure and localize original technology from Korea including but not limited to architecture, design, and construction that is suitable for the locality of developing countries. By attracting, developing, and advancing technologies that will make up for insufficient domestic technological capabilities, we will lay the foundation for technological independence and create a cycle of breaking away from dependence on overseas orders. Based on improved technological competitiveness, we will work with the governments of developing countries to modernize residential facilities by grafting local technologies to our Residential Complex Construction Project.
SOC Construction Project
Infrastructures such as roads, power grids, and water supply facilities, which are important elements of urban planning and design, require long-term planning and extremely large amount of state expenditure from the state or municipal government. In many developing countries, we are working closely with the government and many multinational companies to construct and/or upgrade government-led infrastructure projects including roads, ports, bridges, power grids, water supply facilities, gas pipelines, and sewerage facilities.
