Oil & Gas is not only used as a fuel for power generation, but also used as important sources of petrochemical products that are also necessary for the whole industry. As oil and gas are basic industrial resources, it is evident that stable supply of oil and gas is a worldwide demand. KA Group is making efforts to ensure efficient and effective utilization of oil and gas by its Oil & Gas Projects including Lubricant Oil Manufacturing Project, LNG FSRU Project, LNG Carrier Project, and LPG Station Project that supplyㆍrecharge liquefied petroleum gas around the country.
Lubricant Oil Manufacturing Project
The oil reserves in Iraq account for a large portion of the world’s oil reserves, but the development of petrochemical industry is as of now far lower than that of advanced countries. In particular, for lubricant oils used in automobiles, construction equipment, and the industry in the country, Iraq depends entirely on imports because no lubricant oils are being produced domestically.
With our Lubricant Oil Blending Plant under construction in Baghdad, KA Group wish to make the goal of producingㆍsupplying lubricants domestically a reality. Adopting the frontier technology for producing quality lubricant products, our Lubricant Oil Blending Plant capable of producing up to 660,000 drums a year, is expected to become the main manufacturing base and the foundation of petrochemical development in Iraq.
In line with the positive outlook of the automobile market and the steady development of the oil and gas industries, we will add more production facilities, expand product lines, and lead the market growth of lubricant oil in Iraq.
LNG FSRU Project
Despite being one of the countries with the biggest natural gas reserves in the world, Iraq relies heavily on imports due to lack of separation facilities. Therefore, the stable supply of natural gas for fuel and the construction of gas processing plant are essential for natural gas-based power generation.
Our investment project to build LNG combined cycle power plant (CCPP) in the Al Faw Grand Port in Basra also accompany construction of such infrastructures above. The introduction of floating storage, and regasification unit, the FSRU, that can store natural gas in large quantities for long periods of time, is a new solution to reduce investment costs and shorten the construction period, compared to the construction of a land-based LNG terminal.
Additionally, as the eco-friendly, efficient FSRU is a flexible option in supplying ‘on demand’ energy, we will expand the opportunity to supply LNG all around Iraq to increase natural gas-fueled power generation.
Gas Transportation Project
Across the entire natural gas supply chain, LNG Carrier (Liquidated Natural Gas Carrier) operation has an inseparable relationship with the FSRU. Especially, to ensure safe and stable operation of FSRU, the floating, storage, regasification unit on the sea, maintaining a certain level of LNG supply by the LNG Carrier is essential. The goal of KA Group’s Gas Transportation Project is to maintain stable offshore LNG supply by operating the latest LNG Carriers. will create a foundation for LNG value chain that covers both the production and supply of natural gas.
LPG Station Project
We are under discussion with the Iraqi government on an additional investment project for filling, supplying and inspecting LPG in relation to our business investing in Composite LPG Cylinder Manufacturing Plant and selling the manufactured Cylinders. We will build LPG Stations across the nation and ensure ongoing commitment to safety by practicing a thorough safety management system, regular inspections, and routine maintenance programmes.
